Links: ‘Legend of the Sword’ offers little to like about an Arthurian reboot [Review]

So, I mostly hated this movie.

“Charlie Hunnam has some great abs.

“I say this not to simply grab attention, but because — no matter your sex, no matter your orientation — they might be the only thing worth appreciating about “King Arthur: Legend of the Sword.” In director Guy Ritchie’s vision of what makes men men, there is no doubt Hunnam is his ideal hero and that he has put in the work to play the role.

“One might as well appreciate the results of that work, because beyond that “Legend of the Sword” takes everything worth loving about Arthurian lore and makes a complete and utter mess of it, dragging down the likes of Jude Law, Djimon Hounsou and Eric Bana in the process.”

I also did a round up of home video releases with this one, featuring: Bambi, The Lego Batman Movie, The Lodger (Criterion) and Lost in America (Criterion). Check it out here, if you’re so inclined. (Subscription)
