My wife just opened a cool shop on Etsy, selling custom blankets, scarves and bracelets. Lots of soft stuff, so it’s good timing with winter happening now and such. She’s got a lot of baby blankets, as well, if you’ve got a child. She has been making this stuff for awhile now and decided it might be time to start selling some of it. When I was asked to write something for this week’s Friday media round-up for HEAVEmedia, the Xbox One had not yet launched and the only piece of media that really captured my attention over the course of the PlayStation 4’s launch week was the awesome downloadable game RESOGUN. So I wrote something about that. You can check it out by clicking here.
My interview with Rody Walker, the vocalist for Protest the Hero, recently posted on the website for New Noise Magazine. I was really happy with the way it turned out. Rody’s always a fun interview, and in addition to that I think it was relatively concise and informative and such. You can check it out by clicking here.
Bill Jones On Halloween, I came home from work to find a bottle of Jack Daniel’s new Winter Jack Tennessee Cider at the doorstep. It was a nice surprise, wrapped in a white, wintery wrapper in sharp contrast to the warmth offered inside. Winter Jack mixes Jack Daniel’s whiskey with apple cider liqueur for a blend that’s 15 percent alcohol by volume (roughly the strength of a wine). The bottle recommends serving it warm, unlike many of the typical hard cider offerings. So I obliged, pouring roughly a wine glass-worth into a mug and microwaving it for roughly a minute, Continue reading Jack Daniel’s mixes whiskey, apple cider liqueur in Winter Jack [Food Review]

I contributed something very small to HEAVEmedia’s Friday media round-up this week, but really it’s something you should check out for Dom’s contribution at the bottom. You can read it by clicking here.
After a week off, I contributed once again to HEAVEmedia’s Friday media round-up. This time, I sent over a blurb on Robot Chicken‘s Season Six release on Blu-ray. It’s pretty great. You can check out my thoughts on it by clicking here.
Recently had the opportunity to interview music photographer Lindsey Byrnes for Digital Trends. I’m pretty happy with the way it turned out. You can check it out by clicking here.
A review of Frank Turner at The Vic Theatre in Chicago Story and photos by Bill Jones If Frank Turner’s back was bothering him, it didn’t slow him down Tuesday, Oct. 29, at Chicago’s Vic Theatre; it just left him dancing without a guitar. As part of his headlining tour in support of Tape Deck Heart, Frank Turner and the Sleeping Souls took the stage to “I Still Believe,” but from the outset, something looked strange. Instead of rocking with his usual guitar hanging from his shoulder, Turner performed hands-free, dancing and taking to the microphone, with another member of Continue reading Frank Turner rocks Chicago sans guitar [Music Live Review]
